There are no boundaries or cultural borders dividing those in need. Twenty-four years ago, SAEA saw a need to provide a complimentary traditional Christmas dinner for those in the community who may not be able to afford one for themselves or their families. Coming out of pandemic restrictions, the need is even greater as many in our community struggle with job losses, loss of income as well as houselessness. The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association (SAEA) wants everyone in Lethbridge to receive a warm meal and to feel included and valued. Last year over 250 folks, including seniors, individuals and families received a meal. In 2022, we will be serving 450 meals to community members in need.
This meal is completely made and served by amazing volunteers and members of the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association, dignitaries, and the Lethbridge community.
Once again, we would like to call upon you, a community-minded business or individual, for a donation of funds to purchase items for the dinner. Your contributions to this event are vital to its success and help strengthen our community as a whole around the holiday season.
The Community Christmas Dinner will be held on Sunday, December 18th, 2021 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and can be enjoyed at the Multicultural Centre located at 421 6 Avenue South Lethbridge. We invite community members in need to attend. The dinner will be first come, first serve. The day will include music by the Bridge Brass Quintet as well as Disney Princesses for children to meet.
