Zojo Black, featuring a who’s who of the Lethbridge blues scene including Paul Kype and Tim Mulgrew and frontman Greg Gomola, backed by bassist Tyson Maiko and drummer Brady Valgardson played a rare Lethbridge show, Dec. 3.
While I missed their first set, which was mostly originals from their self-titled CD, I caught some of their second set of upbeat rock and roll.
Gomola, Kype and Mulgrew all took turns singing lead vocals on a variety of different classics like the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,” Lynard Skynard’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine.”
They had a good sized audience dancing in front of the stage.
