Highway 3 Roots Revue among this week’s highlights

December is a traditionally slow month for live music as even musicians like to take time off  from touring to be at home with their families.
 However, one popular tour ends in Lethbridge, Dec. 18.

 Leeroy Stagger, John Wort Hannam and Dave McCann wind up the fourth edition of their winter touring tradition, the Highway 3 Roots Revue in Lethbridge at the Slice, Dec. 18.

  It is always to see Lethbridge based blues band Paul Kype and Texas Flood  play, so they will be at the Slice, Dec. 17.

 Also on Dec. 17 if you missed the previous two Lethbridge shows from Winnipeg born, Toronto based  singer/ songwriter, Daniel Sky then he returns to Lethbridge to play the Owl Acoustic Lounge. He is touring in support of his latest CD “Spider Milk.”

There is a big rock show on Thursday, Dec. 15 featuring Big Jim and the Twins, Lustre Creame and Smokestack Jacks. They are playing the Slice, Dec. 15. There is a five dollar cover for the show, which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.

 If you didn’t get enough of Smokestack Jacks, the Lethbridge blues/ rock duo are also playing an afternoon show at the Royal Canadian Legion,  Dec. 18 in  conjunction with Pure Power Wrestling. Tickets are $10 for children and $15 for adults with proceeds being donated to the Lethbridge Food Bank. The bell rings at 4 p.m.

The Lethbridge Symphony is going to get you in the Christmas spirit as well with their second masters series presentation. Bridge Bells: Reprise Handbell choir will have the Southminster  United Church ringing in the holiday season, Dec. 17.
University of Lethbridge community radio station CKXU, 88.3 FM  is also having a Christmas  party at the Slice, Dec. 16  featuring Jesse Northey and the Dandelions, The Yuletide Logz and DJ sets from Matty V and Shane the Librarian. It is open to volunteers, friends of volunteers, listeners, friends of listeners. Admission is a $2 donation to the Lethbridge Food Bank.
