Saskatchewan based stoner/ space rock band Chronobot couldn’t make it for their Oct. 10 show at the Slice, but it left the stage open for Lethbridge based progressive rock trio Lustre Creame to join forces with Lethbridge stoner rock/ sludge metal band DIRT. And, as expected lots of weirdness and jamming ensued.
It is always fun to watch drummers Chris Lipinski from Lustre Creame and DIRT's Garwin Poff play off each other, which they did for a set with Lustre Creame’s Aaron Trozzo and Willis Orriss and DIRT’s John Brooks sharing vocals.
There were plenty of drums and big, loud riffs.
Lustre Creame played their own set of complex time signatures and a whole lot of intricate riffs and bass plus some twisted, howling vocals.
DIRT Played their own set or more basic, downtuned, Black Sabbath inspired sludge rock played at ear bleeding volumes. They had lots of bone crushing riffs and Steve Martin grooving on bass.
