International Peace Pow Wow this weekend

Take in some First Nations culture this weekend by attending the International Peace Pow Wow  at the ENMAX Centre, Feb. 22 and Feb. 23.
 It will feature First Nations drummers and dancers from all over Western Canada and the U.S.


There will be dance specials with head dancer Nugget Bull Bear for the Men’s Traditional category, Alexis Bull Bear heading women’s traditional, Miss Blackfoot Canada Miranda Mountain Horse performing  the Women’s Jingle Dance and Jr. Miss Blackfoot Canada Kailey Mistaken Chief performing in the Teen Traditional.


 The even also features MC Herman Yellow Old Woman, arena Director Eddie Wolf Child and head dancers Chris and Alexis Bull Bear.

There are 10 adult categories with a first prize of $500, $300 for second and $200 for third as well as seven teen categories, seven junior categories and a drumming category with a $3,000 first prize, $2,000 for second and $1,000 for third.


 There will also be vendors and a lot  of fun for the whole family.


Admission is $15 for 13 and up, $5 for age 7-12 and free admission for tiny tots.
The grand entries are 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday.
