And with three bands on the go including Dojo Workhorse and his new duo Highkicks, he needs the subject matter.
He brings the Dudes to Scores, March 1 to play a show with the Ruby Plumes.

The Dudes are in the middle of  recording a new album.

“It’s pretty much the same old same old. We’re having a good time. We’re just in the demo stage now. I’m busy living the crazy life so I have something to write about,” he said, taking a break from that. He noted the new Dudes record should be out in late summer a or early fall.

“We’re not going to a big tour until we’ve got the album,” he said adding he has also been busy booking some festivals for the summer.

“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s rock and roll. the new music is more like the  old Dudes music,” said Vachon, who along with guitarist Bob Quaschnick formed the original Dudes back in high school in the mid ’90s. Scott Ross and Brock Geiger complete the Dudes’ line up.

“ We’ve lost some members to babies and marriage and real life,” he said.

“But I’m a happy guy, I haven’t had to work a 9 to 5 in  the last 10 years. I’ve got great friends, great music and I’ve got rock and roll,” he continued.
The Dudes always look forward to playing Lethbridge.

“ Last time we drank a 26er of Wild Turkey on stage and had a shotgunning contest. So it is more  what does Lethbridge have in store for us,” he said of the upcoming show.
“ That’s what I like to do, either be in the studio or be on stage,” he said.

The Ruby Plumes and the Dudes  begin their show at 9 p.m., March 1 at Scores. Tickets cost $20 in advance.
