“ It’s all me. It's a solo project that I started when the Constantines were still quite busy,” said Lambke who is excited about making his first ever visit to Lethbridge.
“ I only get to sing two or three songs with the Constantines, so this was a way for me to spread out a little and play my own songs that didn’t quite fit in with the Constantines,” he said.

“  But over the past few years, when the Constantines were taking a break, it became a primary pursuit,” he said.

“This album is more flexible and more personal rather than the l loud rock band that the Constantines are. Well we weren’t always a loud rock band. But there are more things like I, You and me,” he said.

“ Baby Eagle is more personal stories and it's a different creative outlet,” he said.
“ It’s fairly stripped down. I’m approaching this tour as a way to try out the new songs,” he said.

“I like flexibility the performance and it's another challenge. It’s more about the song and the lyrics,” he said.
“ I’ll probably record in August and September
The last Baby Eagle CD “Bone Soldiers” was a full band effort  which he released in 2012 with his band the Proud Mothers.

“ I was living out in Sackville, New Brunswick and my drummer Ian (Kehoe) was there too. We recorded it all in three and a half days,” he said.

“That's always been my approach, but I’m writing new music now. I did the last two albums really fast and I thought I’d take a different approach. So I’m pretty excited about that,” he said.

He noted with the Constantines back on tour in October Baby Eagle may take a backseat.
“Before these shows, the last show was four years ago,” he said.

“The last couple were really fun. We had played together for 10 years. So it was just burn out. We needed to step back,” he said of the Constantines' break.

“ It just needed to happen. You form a band in your 20s and all of the sudden you're in your 30s and there's not much money and you all have lives,” he said adding there are no plans to record a new  Constantines album.

“ Anything can happen. There are no plans for a new album. This tour will be about getting to know each other again and playing,” he said.
In the mean time he has a quick tour as Baby Eagle, which will be Lambke playing solo.
