Toronto based indie folk quartet Young Running are coming to Lethbridge to play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Sept. 19.
They have enjoyed a busy summer of shows and are excited to come to Alberta.
“We’re on the shores of Lake Superior now and it’s gorgeous,” said Liam Kearney from Sault Ste Marie, where they spend some time visiting the family of band mate James Moss. Spencer Irvine and Kevin Braun complete the band's lineup.
He added the tour in support of their brand new CD “ Small Town City,” has gone well.
“We’ve had a wonderful reception,” he added.
“We play half originals and half including covers of reggae songs, the Beatles and faithful covers of Tom Petty and the Travelling Wilburies,” he said.
He is pleased with the new album which he said has evolved from the previous two releases.
“The past two albums were a little more rock. This is still a folk album but there is a little more pop,” he said adding it took about a year to record with different producers.
The show begins at 9 p.m.
There is no cover.
