The Reckless Heroes rock Inferno

E-mail Print PDF

Inferno hosted an excellent punk show, Jan. 15 featuring  local metal band Pentitentz, Medicine Hat’s Ohmwar and Calgary punk band the Reckless Heroes.Reckless Heroes Kevin Towill and Danny Daigle. Photo by Richard Amery
It started on time at 9 so I missed most of it, coming from the Odds show at Average Joes.

But I caught the last two songs of the Reckless Heroes, dressed in collared shirts and skinny ties.

They played energetic punk music. Bassist Danny Daigle, long blond hair flying, leaped to the front of the audience while guitarist/ vocalist  Kevin Towill shouted vocals. Mohawked drummer Nolan Semenoff grinned ear to ear has he flailed away at the skins.
They returned for an encore of a cover of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ theme —  “ Because we haven’t played any covers tonight, but you’ll all know this,” according to Towill.Reckless Heroes drummer Nolan Semenoff . photo by Richard Amery

That allowed  lead guitarist Chris Saunders to show his chops by tapping the fretboard like an old school metalhead. It brought an energetic show to a rousing close.

There weren’t a lot of people there, but they may have left before I made it there.
