Compared to the rock and roll at the Slice, Calgary roots and blues musician Mitch Belot played an intimate set of acoustic singer songwriter material, a few covers and a little blues at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 17.
I arrived in the middle of a song called “Nowhere to Go,” which he followed up by going back 40 some years for a soulful version of “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
His voice and energy were reminiscent of Ross Neilsen and Greg Rekus.
He ended his set with an original blues influenced number called “ Jumping Ship.”
