The ladies rock Lethbridge in all manners for the long weekend.
This week is marked by several top notch female musicians performing.

Amber Neilsen (vocalist/ guitarist/ ukulele), Jessica Rae Ayre (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica) and  Michelle Anderson ( electric guitar/banjo/ background vocals) will be joined on this tour by bassist Alasdair Dunlop and drummer Jake Bell.
They are touring in support of their Western Canadian Music Award winning CD “ We’ve Got To.”
Cathy Hawley will be opening the show, which begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $25  for Folk Club members or $30 for non members and invited guests.

Also on May 16, the Slice welcomes Canmore based alt country/ folk musician Lori Reid, May 16 with Pillgrim (Robin Periara).

If you want to eat before that  show, check out the talented guitarist Fei Fei Du at the Mocha Cabana, May 15 and 16.
The Owl Acoustic Lounge brings in the Tracy Linn band, May 16.

If you love classic rock, Holly Woods and Toronto will be playing all of their hits like “Your Daddy Don’t Know and Girl’s Night Out” at Average Joes, May 17. The Raw Dogs open up the night with some rock at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the show.

It is a great week to rock and roll in general.
Rock ’90s style with local band Cosmic Charley and Planet Telex or start the weekend early on May 13 at the Slice with the Supervoid, Biigpiigwan and Dead Ranch.

There are a couple of heavier shows as well at Inferno this week. On April 16, local metal bands The Avulsion, Sengage, and one More for the Captain plus Red Deer metal band Leave The Living, Grande Prairie’s Arrival of Autumn and Medicine Hat’s Crease will all be rocking the joint at 8 p.m. There is a $10 cover for the show.

On the more indie rock/ alt country side of things, Linden raised, Victoria based musician Mike Edel returns to Lethbridge to play the Slice with his band, May 14. He is touring with Towers and Trees and is supporting his latest CD India, Seattle.

If you just want to dance this weekend, Hippodrome returns to Casino Lethbridge for hot, sweaty, energetic disco/ funk and R and B styled fun, May 15 and 16.
