Open mics and much more this week

While there is a fair amount going on this weekend, this week is all about open mics.
Darcy Cornelisse hosts Henotic’s open mic tonight (Feb. 10), in the GCBC Lounge, there are two open mics on Thursday — local country duo Tom and Curt are back at the Front Row Pub for the weekend and will also the Record Holder plays a couple times  this week.be hosting an open mic  on Thursday. The Beaches Pub open mic is also on Thursday night. The Folk Club has their open mic beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12. Everybody is welcome to perform at any of these.
Downstairs, on Feb. 10 at Henotic, it is Afro-Carribean night with Dr. Zoo aka Newfoundland’s Randal Arsenault.
Henotic has an Amnesty International  fashion show and live music including Jesse and the Dandelions and Jaime Vederes on Thursday.
 The Slice is also going exotic this week on Thursday with Victoria latin and reggae band Buena Buya. the Slice also has a couple really cool shows this week.

 Several local bands including Planet Telex, Lustre Creame, Jesse Northey and the Dandelions, the Void and the Record Holder are performing a tribute to Weezer’s first two CDs, Feb. 12.
 And CKXU Loves you for Valentines Day. Several local bands will be performing at the Slice including the Darby and Joan Club, Jesse and the Dandelions and Lustre Creame. James Oldenburg performs Friday, Saturday and for Valentine’s Day at the Mocha Cabana. Also on Valentine’s Day, SmokeStack Jacks and the Void will be playing at the Slice.
Blues rock fans will want to check out Fat Baby Jake at the 1010 Pub this weekend though on Feb. 13.
Also local country singer Breanne Urban is at HB’s Lounge on Feb. 13 as well.
Classic rock band Fast Times is playing the Soundgarden  as well on Feb. 12.
