Michael Rault and the Vidos go back a few decades

I arrived just in time to catch the tail end of a big, loud set of hot rock from Vancouver trio Vidos.

It was full of huge riffs, lots of  intensity and shrieking feedback plus a few funk infused basslines to end their set.

Rault started on a groovy ’70s note with a song called “Real Life,” but quickly moved to the scrappy, extremely catchy, jangly ’60s style garage rock he is known for.

He had a really tight band who he was excited to bring to Lethbridge for the first time.

They had plenty of toe tapping bass groove and drumming locked in.

Rault sang lead vocals as his band mates added multi-part vocal harmonies and the occasional harmonized guitar solo on “Suckcess” which was one of several highlights of the set.

They ended the fast paced, but short lived set with a Steve Miller cover dedicated to Lethbridge drummer Clayton Smith who was part of the audience.
