Hi Strung Downers play an upper of a night

E-mail Print PDF

I always love hearing Calgary based high octane  rockabilly band the Hi Strung Downers play because they are just so into their performance.
The Hi Strung Downers rocking the Owl Acoustic LoungeThe Calgary quartet dressed in natty suits rocked the Owl Acoustic Lounge , May 27  with a couple of hot sets of high energy rockabilly and rock and roll  music full of throbbing upright bass, blistering guitar licks and an unstoppable beat.

They are so much fun and a really good sized crowd, were really into the music.
It’s hard not to listen to them without tapping your toes.

They drank heavily from the well of ’50s rock and roll with a couple straight shots of  punk fury.

There were plenty of  blistering guitar licks, an unbeatable beat and a lot of big, sweaty energy.
