E-mail Print PDF

The Owl was feeling a little bit country with Calgary area roots and country songwriter Carter Felker and steel guitarist  Skinny Dyck, Friday, Nov. Carter Felker and Skinny Dyck at the Owl Acoustic Lounge. Photo by Richard Amery4.

Felker observed he was losing his voice, but he covered it well. And we still got to her some of his fine guitar picking.

Felker talked about cowboy culture and played  excellent originals while Dyck supplied subtle steel guitar with was just right and never overwhelmed Felker’s songs.

His fiancée Amy Nelson opened the show with a set of twangy traditional sounding country music. She plucked her banjo as well as  an electric guitar.
