Fitzgerald, attended to the U of L, returns to Lethbridge, Jan. 26 to play the Geomatic Attic with his band and local indie rock band the Silkstones.

It has been a few years since he played Lethbridge, though he used to go to school here.

“ I’ve been in the other L.A. doing a lot of writing and playing  a lot in support of the album,” he said from Los Angeles.

The title track of his 2016 CD “ I Wanna Make It with you” and “One Love” get a lot of radio airplay. So he is happy to tour in support of it.
“ It’s been great,” he said.
When not playing shows he is writing new songs, which he noted have the same  type of pop influences.
“I wrote two of them yesterday,” he said.

“It’s still me with an acoustic guitar,” he said.

“I just write whatever I’m feeling like writing about , whatever comes to mind,” he continued.
He hasn’t played Lethbridge since playing the Slice in 2014.

“ In 2014 I played Jesse Freed’ place. I was sad to hear it closed,” he said, adding he was pleased to learn it has since reopened.
“It was nice. I used to go there when I was in university,” he said.
He  is looking forward to playing the Geomatic Attic for the first time.
“I haven’t played there before. I’ll get a g couple of guys to play with me. Most of my band also play  with Brett Kissell, so they’re pretty busy. I’ll see who is available,” he continued, adding he’ll be playing the new album in Lethbridge.

Tickets are $32.50. The show begins at 8 p.m. at the Geomatic Attic.
