There isn’t a lot happening for live music in the week leading up to Christmas.Jolene Draper hosts the Open mic At Honker’s Pub on Dec. 23. Photo by Richard Amery
But get into the Christmas spirit by going to the live nativity scene at the Church of Latter Day Saints church on Forestry Avenue.
It runs nightly 6-9 p.m. Dec. 22-24. There is no charge to attend the event.

There are a couple of open mics this week including an open mic at Coulee Brew, Dec. 20 as well as a jazz jam with HBO3 and Josh Davies at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Dec. 20 as well.

The Slice has their usual open mic on Thursday and Jolene Draper hosts the afternoon open mic at Honkers pub on Saturday, Dec. 23.

Kelly Klimchuk hosts Honkers’ Friday night open mic along with an ugly sweater contest on Dec. 22.

Local roots musician Ryland Moranz plays the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Dec. 22.

Also on Dec. 22, the Slice features a Holiday Curtain (cocktail) raiser with local musicians Erica Hunt, Kurt Ciesla, Don Ponech, Paul Holden and Brad Brouwer. It begins at 9 p.m. There is a $10 cover.

Just out of town at KCs pub in Coaldale, local country band Bow City Underground, who include band members from Indagruv, will be performing blues, rock and country favourites. There is no cover for the show.

Casino Lethbridge brings back country duo DC Top on Dec. 22 and 23.

And last, but not least, local pop musician Tyler Vandendool plays the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Dec. 23.
