Erin Ross joined by Pete Loughlin for excellent show

E-mail Print PDF

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Calgary musician and radio personality Erin Ross  never gets the crowd she deserves when she plays the Slice, as she did, Erin Ross playing banjo at the Slice, Feb. 23. photo by Richard AmerySaturday, Feb. 23.

I missed Chris Drew’s set, but was in time to catch George Arsene previewing a few songs from his upcoming album with Pete Loughlin adding lead guitar. Arsene played a quick set of “Back Against the Wall” and his tribute to Tom Dooley.

Ross can play a variety of music, but was in more of roots/country mood, playing beautifully fingerpicked licks on guitar and then on banjo.
Loughlin stayed on stage to play some sweet leads on some completely new songs which he listened intently to, before adding tasteful leads.
