It will be another fun week for live entertainment in Lethbridge.
First out of the gate, Toronto based blues/soul band Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar return to the Geomatic Attic on Wednesday, March 27. They’ll be bringing back local singer Mwansa Mwansa, who joined the band shortly after their last visit here in 2016. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. The show begins at 8 p.m. sharp.
March has flown by so, as usual, there are several special events at the end of the month including a stand-up comedy open mic on Wednesday, March 27. The Owl also hosts a poetry open mic the next night, March 28 with host Teri Petz beginning at 7 p.m.
Good Times features Newfoundland born comedian Lisa Baker and local comedian Lakshjit Gill, March 30 on 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door for each show.
And not for the faint of heart or easily offended, Good Times features a Calgary vs Lethbridge roast battle, March 29 featuring two time defending champion Lakshjit Gill, Johnny Pogo, Bubba and Cole Howg and Calgary comedians Juan Forno, Steve Taddei and Bryan Moxon. Tickets are $20 at the door. The roast begins at 10 p.m.
Don’t forget Randy from the Trailer Park Boys brings his hamburger picnic to Average Joes, Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.. Solly KP and Jordi Bott will also be performing with host Johnny Pogo. Tickets are $25 in advance.
There may also be some laughs involved at this years edition of the One Act Play Festival. Playgoers of Lethbridge present The ADFA (Alberta Drama Festival Association) Chinook Regional Festival, March 29, 30 at 7 p.m. each night. Admission is $10. There will be two days of plays, plenty of original scripts and Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story.

And DMTV will be back at Club Didi, March 29.
The next night, Vancouver based singer songwriter Sam Weber returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 30 with the Dudes’ Danny Vacon. Admission is by donation.
Just around the corner at the old Firehall, there is another big punk show, March 29 with Calgary punk bands Mandible Klaw and the Motherfuckers, plus Medicine Hat punk/metal band Western Death and local punk bands Total Wolf and Facecut. There is a $10 cover for that show, which begins at 9 p.m.
The Smokehouse also features a big punk and metal show, March 30 featuring local metal band Eons of Earth, local punk band the Hockey Moms and a new local symphonic metal band Night Blade. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the music beginning at 8 p.m. There is a $10 cover for the show.
The Slice features local synth pop musician Vanden Dool, who is kicking off a CD release tour at the Slice, March 29 with local band Open Channels. There is a $10 cover for the show, which begins at 9 p.m.
It is all about the blues at the Slice, March 30 as Keith “Catfish” Woodrow returns to the Slice with bassist, Victor Szuroczki and drummer Hollywood Bob. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.
Casino Lethbridge features the Silver Creek band playing a variety of music.
And just announced, Karen Romanchuk plays solo shows at thew Water Tower Grill, this Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30 at 8 p.m.
There are a couple of early week shows as well to bring in April. Vancouver Island’s Vogue Villains will be stopping by the Slice, Tuesday, April 2 to play a gig with Biloxi Parish. Admission is by donation. The show begins at 9 p.m.
New brunswick/ Montreal based singer songwriter Adyn Townes, formerly known as Andy Brown returns to The Slice, April 3. He will be joined by Regina based Songwriter Joel Henderson aka Poor Nameless Boy as well as local songwriter Tyson Ray Borsboom.
