Papa King and TJ Waltho play the blues at Watertower

E-mail Print PDF

I only caught the end of Papa King and keyboardist TJ Waltho’s first set at the Watertower Grill, Friday, June 21.

Waltho’s  keyboards added a beautiful extra dimension to Papa King’s gravelly guttural acoustic delta blues based sound, so I was sad to have only caught the end of one song.

Waltho played subtle lines never overpowering King’s voice and acoustic guitar.
