Union Barbershop Back Alley Bash helps dogs and cats

Downtown was crazy with classic cars and live music on the weekend, due to Street Machine Weekend.Scott Mezei playing the Back alley Bash with Adequate. Photo by Richard Amery
But  another mini-festival was happening just down the alley from the chaos on Sunday, July 14.

The Union Barbershop’s third annual  Back Alley bash raised $1,000 each for  the Misty Creek Dog Rescue and last Chance Cat Ranch. There was a dunk tank and a variety of artisans’ booths.

I only caught bits and pieces of sets from local funk rock trio Adequate and surf trio the Atomicos though Biloxi Parish and new rap trio Bomb Hugg were also on the bill.

Adequate played their usual hot, sweaty and energetic funk fused set and were playing several originals.
The Atomicos, of course, played instrumental surf music.
