Whoop Up Stage began on Tuesday with a big country night and the Whoop Up  Days parade, Allee opened the Ex Stage at 7 p.m. followed by Aaron Goodvin at 8 p.m. And Corb Lund plays his first Whoop Up Days show at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $38 at the gate and $31 in advance. Medicine Hat duo Mahoney put their own stamp on classic covers in the Let ’Er buck saloon
Wednesday features something for everyone beginning with country music from with Calgary country/roots band the Mariel Buckley Band kicking things off at  7 p.m. They will be followed by the soulful pop stylings of Nuela Charles’ at 8 p.m.. Sam Roberts Band will rock the night away beginning at 9:30 p.m playing a plethora of their hits.
Country musician Ryan Lindsay plays the Let ’Er Buck Saloon. Tickets are $43 at the gate, $36 in advance.
 Thursday will be another eclectic night on the Ex stage as Mohawk/ African Canadian soul/ R and b/Rock and roll and blues band the Julian Taylor band begin the night at 7 p.m.
 Edmonton based indie rock band Scenic Route To Alaska are on the Ex stage at 8 p.m. And Whoop Up Days welcomes Burlington, Ontario based indie rock/pop/ folk band Walk Off The Earth at 9:30 p.m.

The Justin Hogg Band play the Let Er Buck Saloon. Tickets are $38 at the gate, $31 in advance.
 Friday night is the night to rock pop style with Hamilton alternative rock trio the Dirty Nil playing at 7 p.m followed by Vancouver pop duo Dear Rouge at 8 p.m. The Arkells rock the night away at 9:30 p.m.. Several country bands , the Abrams, Garrett Gregory and the Justin Hogg Band are in the Let ’er Buck Saloon. Tickets are $43 at the gate $36 in advance.

Whoop up Days ends Saturday, Aug. 24 with a whole lot of hip hop and rap with Harman B beginning at 7 p.m., the Notorious YEG following at 8 p.m. and Atlanta rapper  Lil Jon closing things off at 9:30 p.m.
 For a contrast to that rising country star the Chris Buck band play the Let Er Buck Saloon with Karac Hendriks. Tickets are $43 at the gate and $36 in advance.

 If that wasn’t enough Whoop Up Days, popular classic rock band the Chevelles play a Whoop up Days wind down party at Average Joes, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. Admission is $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the show. The show begins at 9 p.m.

 Just down the road, Taber has their annual Cornfest as well with  a lot of local musicians performing. Cornfest opens on Thursday, Aug. 22  with performances by Dance Images, Lawless Murphy and Jolene Draper and the Inquisitive Few  closing things off at 10 p.m..
Friday features Roy Pogorzelski at noon followed by  the Hibikaya Drummers, Antifragile, Ransom Note, Breanne Urban and Southern Flyer at  5:15 p.m., Jay Bowcott, 4 on the Floor and Uncovered closing things off at 10:10 p.m.

 

Things start off  bright and early at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24. followed by Calgary blues and roots musician Erin Ross, who also plays the Slice with Alleviate, Aug. 23,, First Nations dancer Jerry First Rider, Tanner James and the Best Intentions, Pound With Angie/ Total Body Tabata and Hippodrome at 4:30 p.m. Local country musician Trevor Panczac opens the night at 6:3 p.m. followed by Suzanne Scott and the Dusty Roads band and The Chevelles bringing the show to a close beginning at 10:15 p.m.   Back in Lethbridge, Shelter Me Party In the Park features live entertainment, Aug. 24.

The Owl has an experimental show, Aug. 22 with Brooklyn, New York/Edmonton’s indie rock/ jazz/pop duo Baby Jey and Ghost Woman.

On the weekend, a newly revamped Mark Hall Band give you the country spirit at Casino Lethbridge, Aug. 23 and 24. Tanner plays the WaterTower Grill, Aug. 23 and 24 as well
 The Owl gets in the the folk and country vein with Gillian Moranz and her brother Ryland Moranz playing country and roots music. Admission is a recommended donation of $10. They stay in that vein on Saturday with local folk duo Prairie Huckster.
 The Owl Acoustic Lounge welcomes back Regina area musician Megan Nash to play Monday, Aug. 26 with Hamburg, Germany based indie rock and pop band Scotch and Water, Monday Aug. 26.
 On the other hand, the Slice goes metal on Saturday with Celtic rock band Nyght Blaed, Calgary power metal/ thrash metal band Syrn and Edmonton’s Mustkakettu and local prog rock band Frege’s Puzzle. The show begins at 9 p.m. Admission is $10. Open mics return this week to the Slice with In Cahoots, as last week’s was replaced with a superjam.

 For comedy, Good Times hosts a roast of Coal Howg at 10 p.m., And Durham, England born comedian Amber  Harper -Young performs two shows at Good Times, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p .m. Tickets are  $10 online, $15 at the door.
Good Times has also started a new Monday night open mic beginning at 8 p.m.
