Daniel Champagne plays hot percussive guitar

E-mail Print PDF

I was sad to miss another set of acoustic guitar pyrotechnics from Australian musician Daniel Champagne, show played a sold out show at the Slice for an enraptured audience, Oct. Daniel Champagne returned to the Slice for a sold out show, Oct.17. Photo By Richard Amery17.

Champagne sang beautiful melodies in his pleasant tenor voice while unleashing furious Chet Atkins style fingerpicked licks, while simultaneously tapping all over his guitar body to create an assortment of different percussive sounds.

Unfortunately I only caught the end of  the set, but was suitably impressed, not only by Champagne, but also by the fact it was sold out on a weekday as was his Lethbridge debut last year.
