Local Sharon , Lois and Bram tribute Karen , Lewis and Pam tested out a new outdoor stage at Legacy park, Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Geomatic Attic is using the stage for a local music showcase this Saturday beginning at noon with the Gabe Thaine band.

For this show, Thaine, plus Ashley Thomson, Jillian Bracken plus upright bassist Steve Martin and always grinning drummer Keenan Pezderic, played a fun couple of sets of upbeat cheerful children’s music for an appreciative crowd of cohorts sitting in chalk marked circles, properly socially distanced.

Bracken played keyboards and recorder, Thaine sang and played guitar and Thomson sang beautifully and added much of the show’s humour especially while trying to get the audience to imitate monkeys during “Five Little Monkeys.” They harmonized prettily together.

They sang a veritable menagerie of animal  themed songs about blue whales, spiders and a quick version of “ Turkey In the Straw.”

They did their best to get the audience to sing along, especially on a round involving heads, shoulders and knees.

Thaine even sang a song in French and recited a poem.

They played two hour long sets, to accommodate social distancing, but, as I left during the last song, it looked like everyone was getting comfortable for the afternoon.

The Geomatic Attic Show at Legacy park begins at noon with the Gabe Thaine band. the easiest way to get to the stage is to follow 13th Street north rather than hiking all the way across the park.
