Nanaimo based country star Aaron Pritchett is excited to bring some 30 years of his hits back to Lethbridge for the Big Screen Harvest Party — a special drive in show at the Enmax Centre, on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Pritchett will be performing with George Canyon.
“ I never done this before.I know artists like Brett Kissell have done a lot of these shows. So I’m excited to see how it will work,” enthused Pritchett, who has numerous hits including “ Hold My Beer,” “ Dirt Road In ’em,” “ My Way,” “Better When I Do” and “Let’s Get Rowdy. So he’s not sure what he will be able to fit into his 45 minute sets.
“ It’s a nice problem to have isn’t it,” he chuckled.
“ I already have that problem choosing songs for a 90 minute show. So it will be the biggest hits. And we do this really interesting medley at the end that I think the audience will enjoy,” said Pritchett.
“It won’t be like seeing us at Average Joes, but it will be a new experience for the audience listening to us in their cars and SUVs or sitting on tailgates. I always have a lot of energy on stage,” he continued.
“There isn”t a lot of talk which is difficult because I talk a lot, but I want to get all of the songs in,” he said adding the two shows will have a similar set list.
They go to High River after Lethbridge for another drive in show and Regina after that.
George Canyon will start the show followed by Pritchett.
“ And George will join me on stage for the last song,” he said, adding he is looking forward to sharing a stage with Canyon.
he is just excited to be on stage again.
“The last full band show was on Feb. 20. We’ve taken time off before, but nothing like this. it’s just like riding a bike,” he said adding his band ( bassist Shane Hendrickson, guitarists Scott Cook, John Sponarski and Kirby Barber and drummer Jayson Brinkworth ) have been together for a long time.
“John has been with me for 15 years and the rest of the band have been with me for at least five years, so we know this show. It’s just like riding a bike,” said PritchettHe just released a new single in June “Never Seen Me Like This.”
it was written by Jordan Schmidt and Corey Crowder who already wrote a couple of his biggest hits including “Worth a Shot” and “Better When I Do.” respectively.
He didn’t know if it would make it into the drive in shows.
“It’s my brand. As soon as I heard it , I knew I had to recorded it. when i saw who wrote it, it just made sense,” he continued noting it was unique releasing it in the middle of a pandemic.
“We had to keep releasing it and re-releasing it. And people really seem to enjoy it, ” said Pritchett, who just turned 50 on Aug. 2..
“I never thought I’d still be doing this at 50. But I don’t feel 50 and I don’t think I look 50,” he said, noting Johnny Cash released his best music after he turned 50.
Tickets for The Big Screen Harvest party are $115 per vehicle; $135 including a concession package; $140 for VIP admission and $160 for VIP and concession.
