The Bridgette Yarwood band had a busy night, Saturday, Dec. 4.
Right after finishing an early evening gig at Bread , Milk and Honey, they rushed over to the Owl Acoustic Lounge to play the rest of the night away.
I only caught part of one of their sets, but they are always a good bet for entertainment.
I caught Yarwood in the middle of belting out a heartfelt, soulful version of “You Make Me Feel (like A Natural Woman), which showed off her multi octave pipes.
She also played keyboards on one song and added acoustic guitaron another.
The band, including bassist Ian Morrice, drummer Beau Sommerfeldt and lead guitarist Mel Gaydos, played the hits well.
They went right into a cover of CCR’s “ Born on the Bayou,” and wound up their set by trying to get the sparse audience to sing along with 4 Non Blondes’“What’s Going on.
Just to have some fun with it, they wound down the set by giving the ’90s hit a reggae spin.
