Jesse and the Dandelions, who did a wicked job playing at the Slice, June 5 for the Ghostwood Records show, will be officially releasing their debut full length CD ‘The Lion’s Tooth.’ at the Slice, June 11.
The Necessities are on the bill too. Plus local singer songwriter Amy Bronson is back from Guelph to play the show too.
June 12 will be a night for rocking out psychobilly style.
The Phantom Creeps will be playing with Montreal psychobilly band the Brains and Chicago based Celtic punk band Flatfoot 56.
Just another reminder, the Move the Mountains tour which was to hit the Blarney Stone, June 190, has been cancelled. It was to feature Dragon Fli Empire, Fallan Soldier, DJ Booda, Edmonton rapper the Joe and the City Prophets.
It is also a good week for jazz, to get jazz fans primed for the jazz festival next week. Bandemonium plays the Lethbridge Casino on Friday and Saturday, plus the Herb Hicks Jazz Quartet hits the Mocha Cabana for the weekend as well.
Also at the Mocha Cabana, Stan Ashbee is playing a dessert fundraiser, June 9. It is to raise money for Kristyn Ross’ "Africa" Mercy Ships Mission. The mission brings hope and helps the poor by providing free medical care.

This is also a good week for open mics.
In addition to Queen of the Worms hosting the Slice’s open mic tonight, Salem Abraha from the Ben Brown Trio is starting up a new open mic at the Bar One Lounge in the Sandman Inn on Wednesdays. The acoustic open mic runs from 8:30- midnight. And the Lethbridge Folk Club has their open stage on Friday in the Wolf’s Den. Next Tuesday, Paul Kype is hosting a special open mic at the Slice, June 15. This one starts early at 4 p.m. as it is part of a fundraiser for Amnesty International in which numerous local restaurants are involved in. It will start off with quieter music in the afternoon and slowly move to more energetic and louder music.
