Blueprint Records celebrated it’s fourth anniversary with a capacity show at the Slice, Sept. 18.
Several local bands were on the bill including Chief Mountain, who continued to show improvement, in their tight set of garage rock/ punk.
The Moby Dicks also showed improvement, though some of that might be due to having a decent set of drums on stage.
They added more of a garage rock sound rather than just relying on the Ramones schtick and sound they have been incorporating over the past year.
I just caught the end of another solid set from Fist City, but stuck around for Calgary’s Heat-Ray, which proved to be a worthwhile endeavour.
They mixed a Pixies noise rock sound with strong Brit-pop melodies which made for a crowded dance floor and a lot of energy.
