I was going to give the Macula show a miss at the Slice, Sept. 24, but was glad I didn’t. I arrived in the middle of the Surrey
foursome’s upbeat set of melodic, riff heavy metal.
They combined a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a touch of Korn and a little Soundgarden with a smattering of Foo Fighters into music that was all their own.
The small but mighty audience was jumping around in their seats, and I was surprised they didn’t start a mosh pit.
The bassist was a wildman, writhing around like Flea and everyone was having a good time. The singer showed he could really sing on a slower number.
