Owl turns people away for Northcote, Yukon Blonde and Wooden Sky show

The Owl Acoustic Lounge was turning people away at 8 p.m. Oct. 1 for a packed house of people looking forward to a big

folk show featuring Northcote, Yukon Blonde and  the Wooden Sky.

All of the stage and most of the floor was taken up by the three bands’ equipment, which made it a very tight squeeze.

Regina based singer songwriter Northcote, aka Matthew Goud, former  Means and The Emerson Letters frontman, started the evening off strong with  a solid set of melodic, acoustic music, then brought his band up on stage for an excellent set of indie-pop tinged folk which had a good portion of the audience up and dancing and it probably wasn’t just because there wasn’t a seat to be had in the place.

Unfortunately I missed Yukon Blonde and the Wooden Sky because there were several other shows I wanted to see, however they were all wrapped up by 11 p.m. when I returned.
