Description
Biography
Recording a new EP, touring across Canada, playing alongside Mother Mother, City and Colour, Weezer and more are only several highlights from Rend’s past few months. With this summer coming to a close this Canadian, 5 piece, electrifying alternative band is ready to go hard and tour their upcoming EP “Winter to Summer”.
Picture a dash of Metric and Muse, a scoop of Paramore, a layer of Alanis Morissette, a pinch of the Foo Fighters, topped off with The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. When you listen to Rend you get a new experience with every song. You will hear driving rhythms, Zeppelin worthy guitar solos, synth pop hook lines, and dynamic, soulful vocals.
Founded in 2010 by lead singer/songwriter Carol-Lynne Quinn, these past 3 years have been an incredible journey. 2013 has been a whirlwind of activity, including showcasing at Indie Week Canada, Canadian Music Week, being Edmonton’s SONiC 102.9 Fan Choice, opening SONiC B00M Fest 2013, being nominated for a 2013 Edmonton Music Award, playing countless shows across Canada, and releasing two music videos. Carol-Lynne Quinn won the 2013 New Music West songwriter award for her composition of "No Lines".
Rend: To tear apart so you are never the same again. To put it simply this band wants to create music that inspires, excites, and stands apart. Their single “Is it Just Me” showcases their unique alternative rock sound mixing soulful vocals with rhythmic loops, gritty bass and electric guitar. They have received Canadian wide radio play with 2 singles off of their independent debut release “No Lines”.
Performing live is one of the most important aspects for Rend. Being able to let go, connect to the audience and make great music is their passion. To really understand what Rend is about one needs to come to a live show and see the energy, musicality, chemistry and skill this band possesses.
For such a fresh band they have already caught the attention and support of many. Sandra Sperounes from the Edmonton Journal commented “together, the five make up (or perhaps unrend) Rend, one of Edmonton’s newest – and fiercest – pop-rock bands. “Quinn” might just be the next great voice to come out of Canada.” Indie 403 states “Rend, an incredible new pop-rock band out of Edmonton, brings us everything we’ve been waiting for”
Produced by: Justin McDonough, Kevin Hoskin and Carol-Lynne Quinn and Mastered by Greg Calbi (Metric, Sam Roberts, Kings of Leon) at Sterling Sound, the “Winter to Summer” EP is a collection of 6 songs that will leave you wanting more.

"Nocturnal" released August 2014
www.isobeltrigger.com // @IsobelTrigger
Biography
Based out of Victoria BC, Isobel Trigger strikes you with their synth driven style and high-energy performances. With exotic vocals, driving lead lines, and heart-thumping grooves, the band weaves a musical web that draws you to the dance floor. Isobel Trigger is about delicate innocence meeting howling distortion; soft in one moment then crashing into powerful crescendos the next. It’s little red riding hood and the big bad wolf all in one.

Isobel Trigger’s highly anticipated release, Nocturnal, is set for August 12th. Monday Magazine featured Isobel Trigger as a band that is “exploding,” and “catch[ing] the eye of Victoria’s music scene makers.” Produced by Ryan Worsley (Echoplant Studios) and Adam Sutherland (Infiniti Studios), Nocturnal features five original songs which combine haunting vocals, psychedelic riffs, and dance beats.

The first single from Nocturnal, Dust and Bones, garnered much attention when it was released simultaneously with a fantastical music video which features vividly creative CGI landscapes, body paint, and an enchanting plot.  The song is receiving increasing airplay on various stations in Canada and rave reviews from trending podcasts.

Isobel Trigger was recently featured as band of the month on The Zone 91.3 Modern Rock in Victoria, and continues to receive frequent airplay on the commercial station. The band also recently performed at Rock The Royal, a showcase of nine of Victoria’s top talent. With exciting festival dates accumulating and a tour to support Nocturnal in the fall, Isobel Trigger is expanding their audience every day.
