A major fundraiser, and now in its eighth year, Love Notes is a great evening of food, company, and of course, live music. The 2015 Love Notes event was a huge success, raising over $25,000 in funds and selling out for the second consecutive year. We truly appreciate all of your support and look forward to another fabulous evening with a twist of mystery and class that James Bond himself would be right at home with. We offer unique silent and live auction items, a great raffle item, stellar cuisine, and the only opportunity to dance to the live sounds of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, all in downtown Lethbridge at Casa (230 – 8 Street South).

Join us on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 5:30 PM for an event that is sure to leave you Shaken AND Stirred!

Martinis, mystery and music are taking centre stage Saturday, February 6, 2016 as the Lethbridge Symphony holds its annual gala fundraising event, Love Notes.

The theme for this year’s fundraiser is focused around James Bond, and while there will be mystery in the air, Music Director Glenn Klassen believes there’ll be no suspense regarding the superb entertainment in store for those attending.

“We’re so excited to be able to put together an event like this that not only brings the community and the orchestra closer together, but also shows our appreciation of those who support us year in and year out.”

As in previous years, the evening will kick off with a Champagne Reception, with the added thrill of a Martini Bar this year, and the musical stylings of Joel Goodfellow on piano will welcome people to the event. The reception is followed by a gourmet five-course meal, catered by perennial local favourites, LA Chefs.

There will be an enticing Raffle for a Ladies Tudor Classic Date luxury Swiss timepiece, which features a 52-diamond bezel and 10-diamond dial (valued at $5,200), generously donated by Foster & Sons Jewellers. And of course, live and silent auction items that appeal to every taste will be featured, ranging from a private dinner cruise in Vancouver’s Elliot Bay to a guided beverage and food tasting for eight to fly fishing with the LSO’s own concertmaster and music director.

Of course, the evening would be incomplete without the live sounds of the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra playing great music, including renditions of several Bond film theme and several other classics, as guests dance the night away.

Tickets for Love Notes – Shaken, Not Stirred are almost sold out! They range from $150 (includes $50 tax receipt), with tables of eight starting at $1,200, and event support starting from $750 (includes two tickets). They are available anytime at http://www.lethbridgesymphony.org/events/special/love or call 403.328.6808 Monday through Friday, 1 - 5 PM.

Casa is the realization of a 20 year dream, shared by many in the Lethbridge arts community, to expand or replace the Bowman Arts Centre. This unique new facility far surpasses the original vision for expansion, and sets a new standard for interdisciplinary arts centres. It is about experimentation, incubation, learning and growing. Casa was built to serve a multi-generational community, with varying art skill sets and interests in all disciplines of the arts.

Designing the building was a comprehensive and collaborative process led by Nyhoff Architecture from (Calgary) working in conjunction with the local architectural firm of Ferrari Westwood Babits. The Architectural team visited numerous arts education institutions and also met with members of the local arts community to define requirements for a truly functional 42,000 square foot art centre. The resulting building design is truly impressive.

Funding for the project were provided by the Federal Build Canada Fund ($6,000,000.), the Provincial MSI Fund ($14,900,000.) and the City of Lethbridge ($200,000).
