 Amy Nelson

"The sweet, sad longing and play of words and phrases, delivered in a voice from days far gone; holding the plaintive echoes of the struggles of women who bore the weight of abject sorrow and hardships, reaching through the ages and channeled through this small figure of a girl. Amy Nelson began her music career as an old time banjoist, singing songs older than the hills. As time wore on, she began to dedicate herself to not only the preservation of the rural folk music she became known for, but by writing songs that reflected her own view of the world too. 1st place winner of the 2016 Ship and Anchor song competition, numerous radio play for her home recordings, and marked as a festival stand out, Amy's songs display a veracity and rawness that is uniquely her own."

"It’s one of the greatest feelings to discover a sweet soul whose personality can be felt through his or her work – whether it’s through words… music… photography… In this case, it happens to be all three – and then some.

I discovered Amy Nelson on dear old Instagram, and was immediately drawn to her sweet, simple photographs embellished with dainty touches of nature, and the beautiful captions that went along with them. When I saw that she had a blog, too, I fell even more in love."
-Free People Interview 2014

"Don’t you just want to join this girl on a grassy hill at a summertime music festival? Dreamy, artsy, whimsical, with many a-stint on Teen Vogue, and a similarly large following online, Amy is a lover of vintage and florals. With a secondary page dedicated to her own poetry, we have to assume there’s something pretty prolific going on in her head when she’s assembling these covetable outfits, too." -Fashion Magazine

Amy’s style plays on romantic, prairie-esque looks, but with a decided edge. Perhaps she’s inspired by the old books she loves to read, and the landscape of her hometown, Calgary. -MODCLOTH

Carter Felker traffics in music, yes, but even more profoundly in essence: the humdrum essence of Monday morning alarms clocks coming round again during lifetimes ticking on through thoughtless dawn moments walking across the kitchen floor; the craven essence of sneaking wordlessly away from a relationship and feeling the mute screen door sag shut behind you; the essence of everyday struggles.

Carter Felker:

Born and raised in the Prairies, Carter Felker's eyes have seen the length of the wheat fields through many Winter mornings, and the stretch of the sun through many short lived Summers. He has labored, he has lost, and he has loved.

Carter uses his own experience, and his desire to tell a story to create honest, human-made, country music. Enjoy.
