Celebrate Reading and Literacy with the Lethbridge Public Library!

We’re proud to join communities across the country in a national celebration of literacy, storytelling, and the literary arts for the 8th year in a row. This signature event in southern Alberta presents established and emerging authors, storytellers, informative panel discussions, demonstrations and workshops, live music, tons of activities and a bustling marketplace. We strive to create a free local festival that represents the diversity of our community, is accessible to all ages, and is well attended, lively, and fun!

Discover Canada’s Best Authors

Since 2011, The Word On The Street Lethbridge has proudly hosted a wide and diverse range of literary talent from across Canada. Our eighth annual festival is shaping up to be another great one. Check out the authors and artists appearing this year!
The Word On The Street festival currently takes place in Toronto, Halifax, Saskatoon and Lethbridge, in September. In 2018 the Festival will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Lethbridge Library Main Branch at 810-5th Ave S and on the adjoining streets. The Word On The Street Lethbridge takes part in a national celebration of literacy that is hosted in Lethbridge by the Lethbridge Public Library. In this role, the mission is multi-faceted; to acknowledge and promote writers, publishers and literary arts organizations in Alberta; to build bridges between literary arts and literacy in southern Alberta; to involve Aboriginal writers, theatre groups, and storytellers as integral contributors to Alberta’s heritage and culture; and to ensure The Word On The Street Lethbridge represents the diversity of all our communities and is accessible to everyone. Join us Saturday September 22nd, 2018!
