Compared to the last couple weeks, live music at the end of April leaves like a lamb.
 But there are some very cool shows happening.
 Unleash the Archers return to Lethbridge to play the Slice, Wednesday, April 25. The Vancouver power metal band were deadly at a poorly attended show at the Blarney Stone a few years back, and are going to play some energetic and exciting metal music. Lustre Creame and Arcanis  are also on the bill. There will be a $10 cover. Other than that, the Slice has a almost completely local line-up this week with Floyd Sillito performing on Thursday,  April 26 Paul Kype and Texas Flood playing on April 27 and Tyler Bird and Johnny Greenshields playing, April 28

The other big show of the week is Whitehorse aka Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland, who play the Geomatic Attic, April 25. Unfortunately this show is sold out.

 A newer venue is having a couple shows this week. The NAAG Gallery ( 255- 12 C N) , has two shows this week beginning April 26 with Cryin Adams’ Dave Smith, Sandy Cassels and K. Stebner’s Cold Water. The show begin at 7 p.m. There is a five dollar cover.

 They other big show of the week is also at the NAAG — poet/ rapper/ bluesman/ folk singer C.R. Avery returns to Lethbridge to play the NAAG, April 27. How do you describe C.R. Avery? Is he a poet, a folk singer? A blues singer? A rapper?
He’s a combination of all of those things. You can see for yourself when the Vancouver based musician plays the NAAG Gallery, April 27.
There is a $15 cover for the show which begins at 8 p.m.

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge has a couple interesting shows with Tyler Gilbert and Cathleen Lesperance performing April 27. And if you like Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal, Them Crooked Vultures and Queens of the Stone Age you will want to be at the Owl Acoustic Lounge April 28, because it is Josh Homme Night and you may be hearing songs from all of those bands and more.
 If you like poetry, Most Vocal Poets present a journey into the spoken work with special guests Anita Dolman and James K. Moran who will be speaking at the Lethbridge public library,  April 28.
 Also April 28, Band of Brothers play Scores.

There is an all ages show at the Moose Hall, April 27 featuring several popular southern Albertan bands.  Lethbridge punk pop band  Cold Gold, who opened for Stressed Out a few weeks ago, will start the show at 6:30 p.m. They will be followed by Taber metalcore band Gatherings, Lethbridge rock band Lightworker who competed in the Lethbridge College band wars  earlier this year,  Calgary’s Heavy Low Cities and Fort Mcleod punk-pop band Sophmore  Jakes who will close the night. Last but not least, The Slice has special guests to host their Tuesday night jam. This week, Paul Kype and Texas Flood host  their Tuersday night jam tonight ( April 24) but  next week, eclectic Victoria based musical collective the Ball Gag N’ Chain Gang return for the jam.
