On an On opening for Yukon Blonde

Minneapolis band  On an On are excited to tour Canada with Yukon Blonde.On and On open for Yukon Blonde, Feb. 11. Photo submitted

“ It’s going to  be really exciting going coast to coast for a few weeks. We’ve never done that in Canada,” said On an On guitarist Nate Eiesland, who, together with long time friends Ryne Estwing and Alissa Ricci, make up the band.


They have also never touring with Yukon Blonde.
“They’re really nice guys, so being able to tour with them will make it way better,” he said.
 They are touring in support of their latest CD “And the Wave has Two Sides.”
“ People have really responded well to it. It feels like we’re going in the right direction.”
The trio have been together for many years.

“ We were in college bands together and Alissa and I  go back even further when we used to sing in choirs together,” he said.
They have released two records with a third due in July.

 


“ It’s coming together really well. We’ve written a few songs for it,” he continued.
“They will be fun On an On songs,” he said.

 They will be playing  a 35-45 minute opening set.
“It will be fun to play a different place every night and introduce our music to different audiences. So we’re excited about that,” he said, promising a high energy show.
 He noted the Minneapolis music scene has a lot of variety and there is a lot of support amongst musicians.


“It’s great. it really is supportive. So that’s pretty cool. There is a lot of great music happening there that is worth hearing,” he said.

Minneapolis indie pop band On an On and Yukon Blonde play Average Joes, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the show.
