Dave McCann and the Firehearts play great show for dismal audience

Local singer songwriter Dave McCann and his band the Firehearts played a great show for a dismal turnout at the Slice, June 4.
They deserve full houses but seldom get them in Lethbridge.

While I missed the first set, his second set included some of his better known older songs  like “Unfamiliar ground”  songs off his most Recent CD “ Circle of Light” including “ Beautiful Road” and several new songs.
McCann and the Firehearts ( bassist Pete Loughlin, guitarist Dave Bauer and drummer Tim Williams) always play superbly.

McCann switched to electric guitar for a couple of songs, but usually stuck to acoustic and singing.

Bauer played some perfect slide guitar solomon  a couple of songs while Laughlin held down the beat and mugged for the audience. They ended their second set with “Mexican Sparrow.”

But they came back for a  more upbeat  third set including more McCann favourites like “ Road To Cain.”
