In this case it was a mind bending melding of jazz and poety–old school beatnik style with T Gordon Leigh and the Naked Ear who marked the return of Jazzerwocky at the Slice, Oct. 20.

T Gordon Leigh played French horn and delivered his own  poetry in a Leonard Cohen style baritone.

His crack backing band including James Oldenburg, stand up bassist Paul Holden, drummer Matt Lipinski and percussionist Atty Charles delivered the goods musically, with Oldenburg adding a touch of Santana to the proceedings.

They were also backing poet John Lent, who was performng  as part of the event, which was sponsored by the Most Vocal Poets.
