It was time to rock at the Slice, Friday, March 18 with several local bands.

A  revamped Dirti Speshuls opened the show with upbeat ’90s post grunge music.

While Randy Shaver’s guitar was missed,  the band ’s new line up has coalesced very well together  playing catchy original rock. Todd Carter still has an impressive voice, though wasn’t as energetic on stage as he usually is.

They brought me back to the early ’90s when I used to cover Carter’s old band Tinker’s Damn.

 While I missed  the Phantom Creeps, I enjoyed an energetic  and tight set by Berserker. Jon Vornbrock howled into the mic and looked like he was trying to throttle it, while the band laid down an upbeat Rage Against the Machine  rap/ rock groove.

 I hadn’t seen One False Move before, but was impressed to see Tyler Brownfield on bass, growling out dirty, straight ahead punk. They had plenty of energy and attitude and played a tight set.
