Mr. Personal, Jeremy Floyd Cowper opened the show with a set of heart-felt acoustic metal, with just a touch of blues.

For a complete counter-point to that, local rock band The Void, fronted by Jon Vornbrock showed their range in an inspired set of loud alternative rock, which had a lot of melody and some  excellent melody.

Hamilton singer-songwriter Wax Mannequin took the stage around midnight, dwarfed by a six foot tall “chrysalis”  which he said the most exciting audience member would get to open later in the show.

He set a laid back mood, hooked up a few effects to his acoustic guitar and  played a lot of catchy originals about broken friends, broken hearts and a lot of “songs that celebrate the downside of life.”

He played some excellent guitar throughout, picked up the tempo to  got a lot of people moving.

Near the end of the show brought Sarah Christensen on stage to open the chrysalis to release numerous balloons, which fell upon the dancing crowd in front of the stage who playfully batted at them.
