Spencer Jo started celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early for a good sized audience at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 16.

He along with an accordion player and a fiddler/ stand-up bassist played an array of originals as well as a few traditional Irish songs about sailing and drinking.
They invited Ali Stuart up on stage to share a mic and sing a song with them for an excellent number. They played an enjoyable set of upbeat music featuring a lot of accordion and some solid fiddle playing.

She showed a lot of confidence on stage and  her band played tightly behind her.
Her voice included a little bit jazz, a little bit indie pop and a little bit Edie Brickell with a touch of Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne.

I was very impressed as she played through much of her CD “ A Lot Less Gold.”
Her band stepped aside in the second set so she could play a few solo songs including a Neil Young song.
