I arrived at the end of his second set, in time to hear the end of ‘“Broken Bugs” from his “Dixiebluebird CD,” and in time to hear his sensational show stopper “When Leroy Quit Drinking,” about a farmer who sees a UFO.

He tossed in a few choice covers from Hank III , Bob Dylan and Slaid Cleaves’ “My Drinking Days Are Over,” which was a definite highlight of the show.

The band was top notch including Dave Bauer on guitar, Pete Loughlin on bass, Kyle Harmon guesting on drums and Charlie Hase hiding in the shadows adding pedal steel.

And even though they noted they already played it a couple times before, they played “Tinseltown,” at the request of one particularly enthusiastic fan.

They came back for a late night third set including an assortment of covers and a lot of energy.
