Despite a few technical glitches Windborn, aka multi-instrumentalist Jeff Pike and a cellist named Dennis he picked up to play his first show with him, put on a very cool show for a good sized crowd at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, June 22.

Pike  sang and played acoustic guitar while  pounding out a beat  on a bass drum set at his feet , while trying to get his digital sampler to work.

Pike joked he played his song “Solitary Fashion” in a bookstore in Fort  St. John B.C, and had them all dancing. He encouraged the Owl audience to do the same to no avail.

 He sang a lot of catchy melodies and though his sequencer wasn’t working as expected, nobody would have noticed if he hadn’t mentioned it. 

His song “Tarantino,” was a highlight though he observed it had nothing to do with Tarantino and his movies though it was influenced by their soundtracks.

The cellist was impressive, picking out intricate bass lines and bowing other notes, he was tapping at a digital pad at his feet which was playing cymbal sounds. The cellist was called back for an encore of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” for  which most of the room joined in.
