Manitoba country/ folk musician Kayla Luky was a highlight of the L.A. Beat Open jam at the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

 She played addictive traditional country music, her pretty voice shining through on a set of peppy country music right out of the ’60s.

She sang several of her older songs. One of the highlights was a song about small towns, hockey players and the girls who love them and the old people who think things were better back then.
