This week in Lethbridge there are several exciting shows beginning tonight at Henotic where it will be duo night. Four duos including Austria, Amelia Earhart, Smoke Stack Jacks and  the triumphant return of Vancouver based garage/blues duo the Pack A.D will all be playing beginning at approximately 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 at the door or $12 in advance from Blueprint Music.
 Also tonight, Paul Kype and Texas Flood host a blues jam and there is a popular open mic at the 1010 Pub. There are a couple other open mics this week including a Remembrance Day open mic at Henotic with Felipe Rodriguez as well as  the Lethbridge Folk Club’s open mic  on Friday, Nov. 13 at the Wolf’s Den. Though it’s a few weeks away, the Folk Club is bringing in one of my favourite folk groups. Tanglefoot, known for  singing energetic  bluegrass and folk infused songs featuring tidbits of Canadian history. Their farewell tour stops by the Wolf’s Den , Nov. 27. Tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members.
Metalheads will be in their element, Nov. 14 at Scores North where progressive metal band Omega Crom will be playing. Read the interview with them in Music Beat.
Also on Nov. 14, hip hoppers and snowboarders will want to take in the Swollen Members’ video release party at the Blarney Stone.  Ko Kapaches and Absent Minds are also on the bill and   there will be pro snowboarders  in attendance including host Andrew Hardingham.
 And if you like Celtic music, Newfoundland’s favourite party band Shanneyganock will be at the Blarney Stone, Nov. 12. Advance tickets cost $20 for that show which are available from Infamous and the Blarney Stone.
The Slice also has several  excellent shows beginning with Language Arts on Nov. 12.
If you want to rock and roll, be there , Nov. 13 where Lustre Creame and the Void will be tearing the roof off the place.
 The next night will be a lot of fun too with the Shaela Miller Threesome, Red Ram and Sean Brewer and the Switchmen hitting the Slice.
A few streets over, Henotic welcomes back rock/jam band JPS Trio who had to cancel their show a few weeks ago due to a bout with the swine flu. So check it out because the Release,  another terrific jam band from Vancouver are also on the bill. Downstairs, it will be reggae/dance hall night with the Ignition.
 Henotic also has a pretty sweet blues gig on Saturday with Papa King along with the Darryl Düus Blues band. So don’t miss it. And of course, Lethbridge Musical Theatre’s production of “Big River” continues at the Yates Theatre this week.
