Rancho Deluxe were in fine form at the Slice, Nov. 2.

Frontman George Arsene had a lot of energy and shone through a set of original, whiskey fuelled and whiskey inspired material and roots rock covers which had a good portion of the audience dancing.

And with Brad Brouwer on drums, Tyler Bird on accordion and stand-up bass, Ryan Dyck on steel guitar and Taylor Ackerman on lead guitar and bass for a song, the band sounded great.

After their set,  Rob Ursel took the stage backed by most of Rancho Deluxe as he played a set of quirky original folk / country music about a variety of topics including David Suzuki and falling in love with a suicide bomber.

Highlights included the suicide bomber as well as one called “Everyone is a whore.”
