Zoo Lion rock with original music

I always enjoy seeing live music in a new venue.
Calgary's Zoo Lion was a good introduction to music at Legends on the south side.

They took a long break after that then began their next set with some outstanding originals, beginning with “Lost In Translation,” which featured some catchy mandolin playing from lead guitarist Mark Heit, who switched to guitar mid song.

There were plenty of big riffs and psychedelic solos and even a drum solo to end the second set I caught.

Lead singer Craig Aikman had an impressive voice while the rhythm section was locked in a and got a lot of people on the dance floor. There wasn’t much dialogue with the audience, however their sets were mostly original with a few covers like the Doors’ “Love Me Two Times” and the Foo Fighters’ “Everlong.”
