Helix still knows how to R.O.C.K You

I only caught the last little bit of Canadian classic metal band Helix’s hit heavy set at Casino Lethbridge, June 20. I arrived at the end of  “Running Wild In the Streets, just in time for them to crash their duelBrian Vollmer of Helix. Photo by Richard Amerying horse race theme guitar solo, then into their big hit “Rock You,” which had the enthusiastic audience shouting along at beaming Brian Vollmer’s behest.

Vollmer still has a powerful voice. He looked fit, sported a cowboy hat and grinned ear to ear as he got the audience pumped up to s close down the show.
They were called back for an encore for which their new guitarist, who looked like Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, played keyboards for “Dream On,” on which Vollmer sounded  very impressive.
They ended with a really cool version of  “Running Wild in the 21st Century with the catchy lyric “ history repeats itself,” plus  “Danger Zone” from their B Sides album.
