The hirsute, poncho clad musician strummed his guitar and sang a selection of originals about whiskey drinking and love and murder related themes which held a good sized audience‘s attention. He also sang a smooth version of Tom Wait’s “Cold Water.” He began his set with a perky cover of Roger Miller’s  “Dang Me, Dang Me, Get a Rope and Hang Me.”

His song “Whiskey Waterfall” was a highlight as was “King of Spades,” one of several songs on which he sounded like Todd Snider. He brought up an accordion player to add extra sounds to wind up his set.
While I missed Wooden Horseman’s set, I caught the tail end of Joel Kamps’ set of tender singer songwriter music.
