Good times with Tod Robinson and the Gleu

It is always a good time with Jesse and the Dandelions and Tod Robinson and the Gleu, who played an upbeatTod Robinson playing keyboards and guitar. While I missed Planet Telex’s opening set, I arrived near the end of Jesse and the Dandelions set of ambient indie rock. Jesse Northey sang appealing melodies as usual.

Tod Robinson plus the Gleu aka  bassist Jason Schultchen, drummer Brady Valgardson and Planet Telex’s Tyson Wiebe on guitar and background vocals played an upbeat set of  catchy rock and roots music. Robinson sang and alternated between guitar and keyboards.

His keyboard based songs had a strong Ben Folds feel while his guitar based music have a late ’90s Matchbox 20 sound.

Wiebe added excellent vocal harmonies and extra guitar. Robinson switched effortlessly between guitar and keyboards, sometimes in the same song and tried to get the audience to dance.
